Tan Sri Datuk Seri Hj Mohd Bakri served as Kudat District Police Chief, Sandakan District Police Chief, Kota Kinabalu Deputy District Police Chief, Seremban District Police Chief, Lahad Datu District Police Chief, Cheras District Police Chief and Dang Wangi District Police Chief

2003 – Sabah Criminal Investigation Department Head

2005 – Deputy Sabah Police Commissioner

2006 – Deputy Director (Investigation / Operation) of the Bukit Aman Narcotics Criminal Investigation Department

2007 – Director of Bukit Aman Criminal Investigation Department.

2012 – Promoted to Deputy Inspector General Police taking over post of Tan Sri Khalid Abu Bakar who was promoted to the post of Inspector General Police

Served for 39 years in PDRM and retired on the 7th Sept 2014.
